Nicholas Tochukwu Odey Profile

About Me

I am a doctoral student in Engineering Education at Florida International University, where my research sits at the intersection of community engagement, equity, and how engineers come to understand their professional identity and responsibility. I am particularly interested in how partnerships between universities, industries, and communities can be designed not just for access, but for genuine reciprocity - where both sides grow, contribute, and are transformed by the relationship.

My background spans electronics, embedded systems, and IoT development, and I have been tutoring and mentoring students since 2016. One of the experiences that shaped my teaching philosophy most was organizing a Secondary School Girls Robotics Summer Camp - a program that pushed me to think seriously about belonging, scaffolding, and what it means to create learning environments where students who have been historically excluded can thrive and lead.

Outside of research, I am a soccer fan (A Manchester united fan.. Go Red Devils!), a music lover, and someone who believes that the best ideas often emerge at the edges - where disciplines, cultures, and communities meet.
